Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD)/Ohio
Weatherization Training Center. Everything from heating system
tune-ups and retrofits, to shell retrofits
(including air and duct sealing), and lead
abatement. National and regional. Courses range
from 1 to 5 days and average $150 per person per
day. Certificates are granted based either on
attendence or on the participant's grade,

- Kansas Building
Science Institute. Programs for energy
auditors/inspectors in weatherization, home
energy rating (HERS), basic building science and
house systems, basic blower door operation and
air sealing, advanced blower door and pressure
diagnostics, residential combustion heating
systems, mobile home weatherization,
installation of spray-applied and dense-pack
cellulose insulation. All attendees are tested
upon completion of the training programs. HERS
certificates are issued by Kansas Department of

Action (MICA).
Whole-house analysis, mechanical systems,
ventilation, determining the thermal boundary,
indoor air quality, retrofitting, dense-pack
insulation, attic ceilings, bypass ceilings,
replacement furnaces, blower door use, pressure
diagnostics, appliance drafting, and HERS
certification. HERS certificates are issued to
participants who complete the training, pass a
final exam, and demonstrate field experience.
