Leslie Jackson: Tell us about passive-solar siting. I hear you have a different view on it than I would think. The general orientation of the Hummingbird House—the house you designed and share with your wife, Suzanne, in the Monterey area—is not what I expect. While the roof and its solar panels face south, most of the glass is on the north side of the house.
