Behind the Story: Blower Door Testing in Multifamily Buildings

Don Hynek, the field coordinator for Wisconsin's large-building Multifamily Weatherization program, wrote an article for us titled, "Blower Door Testing in Multifamily Buildings," which shares the challenges - and benefits - of multifamily blower door testing. (As you can imagine, testing 50-plus homes at once can't be easy.) Although the article isn't scheduled to appear until our September/October issue, which comes out in just a little more than a week, Hynek sent some photos to share his progress with us. 

The photo to the right was taken just last week when Hynek instructed a multifamily blower door class in Aurora, Illinois, offered by Insight Property Services. Here, himself and a student are setting up three of the eight blower doors they used to test the photographed 38-unit apartment building.
